something for the weekend: a bookish laptop case
I love books. I love my laptop. I love reading. Whether it’s on a book or laptop or ipad, it all equates to reading.
But if you love a bit of vintage like I do, you probably love the physical reality of a book in your hands. The sensual pleasure of a book triumphs over the virtual reality of reading on an e-device.
But look at this for a ball of confusion.
For a while now I’ve been charmed by this laptop cover that looks like a book. I already have something like this as a phone cover. It functions well and I like the look of it.
I held back on the laptop cover as, first of all, I hadn’t the need for one until recently. I introduced some red wine to my previous laptop cover. It didn’t work out so well but at least the laptop was protected.
Secondly, sometimes these things don’t look as great as they do online or in the catalogue. So, I’ve been holding back as I cast my beady eye over the magnified details of this cover. But, so far so good on the reviews of the BookBook laptop cover. I feel I can be sure this is an authentic-looking and practical laptop cover. Anyway, I can return it if I’m disappointed.
This leather laptop cover gives a vestige of vintage, a soupçon of security and a nod to nostalgia. Okay, I’ll stop with the alliteration.
The thing is, I can’t decide whether to get the red, black or the brown one. I do love red — so perhaps I’ve just made my mind up right this second. Emm, that was easy. Red it is. Or maybe the brown — grrrrr, I can’t decide!
Kindle and iPad covers too
I’ve discovered this is also available for the iPad. Endless book-related joy. Here’s a link: Twelve South BookBook Volume 2 for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Generation iPad – Vintage Brown
Nothing yet in the same range for the Kindle owner. However, you could try Verso Prologue Cover for Kindle— a range of covers that look like a vintage book.
They are hand made using traditional bookbinding techniques. Nice.
Have a great weekend.
